FAQ`S HOW DO I CHOOSE A MOTIF ?. A. You can search the designs on the website and if there is a motif you like take the name that I have allocated which is displayed under the motif and e mail that to me. If you do not see a design of choice e mail me and I will place onsite or email sample pictures. B. If you are local to me you are welcome to visit and search through the many designs I hold on the computer or view my sample items and designs. C.You can e mail me a picture or idea and I will work with you untill we come up with a motif of your subject and choosing. D.You have the option to send a picture file of your design of which I can then digitise into embroidery stitches. WHAT IS THE COST ?. Firstly my pricing is reflective of the garment used or manufacturing costs of the items I make in-house, I source quality garments and materials at competetive prices , the main costing is in the garment and it is the embroidery that sells it. Standard Motif & Name : The costing of embroidery is variable on the amount of stitches per design and for a standard sized motif and name I have included this in the price of my garments and items of which you will be quoted. So for instance if you choose a adult grey sweat shirt of which I have quoted a price of £10.00, you can then choose a standard sized 4 x 4 inch motif of 6 colours or less from the designs I have and add a name which will all be inclusive of the £10.00. Larger Motifs: You may have larger motifs placed on items and several lines of text but this will incur further charges, it is possible to do a single design approximately 8 x 12 inches and place a number of these on a garment, however this is very time consuming and costly to do. Most motifs are done in the 4 x 4 inch or 5 x 7 inch sizes. Several Motifs: Again several motifs may be added to one garment where you wish them to be placed, these are only restricted by tight sleeves and such. Again this would incur further charges than a standard motif. Digitising your design : Obviously digitising is a complicated long process and must therefore be cost effective for the project, it is uneconomical for me to attempt a complicated design which would take many hours to digitise and to place it on a one off item, that I would only be able to sell at a small price. If I thought the design would sell further items, it then becomes more cost effective lowering the price of any digitisation, of which the cost in time and effort could be spread over several items. Colours: There is the possibility on most designs to change the colour scheme this is also neccesary if for instance you choose a motif which is predominately red and you want it on a red shirt. I use a 6 colour machine which means I can stitch upto 6 colours before I have to change the thread, again if you wanted 20 colours in a design this is also time consuming changing the threads and would incur a further small charge. WHAT ITEMS CAN BE EMBROIDERED ?. The biggest restriction is the hoop size the items fit into, most items with a width and length over 5 inches can be easily embroidered, on that note there are ways using stick on, to embroider smaller items. Thickness of a item also restricts the use of some items such as bags as they are too thick to hoop. The material to be embroidered also has an effect on the finished product, a firm material like cotton gives crisp clear motifs with little stretch. Fleece however well you stabilise it and hoop it, does tend to stretch to some degree and even a good design can have outlines which slightly run out, this can also be caused by the water soluble wash away which is placed on the top of fabrics with a pile to stop the stitches sinking in. Satins have a tendency to pucker so there are few materials and textiles which cannot be embroidered. By means of a cap frame I have the ability to do baseball caps and of course beanie hats but some hats with wide stiff brims cannot be embroidered. WOULD YOU EMBROIDER MY OWN ITEM ?. Like most things in life embroidery can go wrong although it rarely does, if this happens when I am stitching a motif on one of my garments I can replace it and start over. If this should happen to your garment, I am then liable for the replacement of that item, if I have stated a cost of £2,00 for a name and I have to replace a £25 shirt it is not economically viable for me to do so. I would therefore only undergo such work on the understanding that it was at the owners own risk of which would be stated at the offset of any work taken on. PAYMENTS - Is buying on-line safe?
